The Centre for Ageing Better Web Accessibility Policy 2023

1. Purpose 

The Centre for Ageing Better is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA standards. 

2. Scope 

This policy applies to all web content and functionality hosted at www.agewithoutlimits.org.  For further information about the accessibility policy of the Centre for Ageing Better, the organisation which runs this website, please see our website.

3. Responsibility 

The Centre for Ageing Better is responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of this policy. All employees, contractors, and third-party vendors involved in the development and maintenance of our web presence are expected to comply with this policy. 

4. Standards Compliance

Our website will adhere to the WCAG 2.1, Level AA standards. We will regularly review our website to identify and fix any accessibility issues and provide training to our staff responsible for website development and content creation. 

5. Accessibility Features 

To ensure a seamless user experience for all visitors, our website will include the following accessibility features:

  • Captions and other alternatives for multimedia 
  • Logical and intuitive navigation 
  • Keyboard accessibility 
  • Clear and consistent headings and labels

Regular accessibility testing will be conducted to identify and address any barriers to accessibility. Testing methods may include automated tools, manual testing, and user testing with people who have disabilities.  As the site has recently launched we have yet to complete a full accessibility test, and we will update this page when that is carried out, including the date on which testing will next be run.

This policy is effective as of 15 January 2024. All new web content and functionality will be developed in accordance with this policy, and existing content will be reviewed and changed to meet these standards as resources allow.
