Join us in the Community Room at Nucleus: The Nuclear and Caithness Archives in Wick for a relaxed Archive Afternoon exploring the latest exhibition from the Caithness collections, Following the Fish, which celebrates the remarkable lives of the herring girls - thousands of women who powered the UK’s fishing industry from 1850 to 1950. Discover their journeys, family stories, and the vital role they played in communities across Scotland and England. It’s a fascinating look at resilience, heritage, and the legacy of working women.
Enjoy a relaxed afternoon with tea, coffee, and biscuits, and plenty of time for a friendly chat as you explore the archives and connect with local heritage.
