Embracing Ageing
A celebration of the fabulousness of older LGBTQ+ people
Wednesday 11th June, 11am - 1pm, Birmingham LGBT Centre
What does it mean to LGBTQ+ people’s body image to get older? Do we worry about being “too old for the scene”?
How do we age comfortably in our skin, retain our identities and fight ageist stereotypes across all age groups?
Embracing Ageing means recognising and valuing the diverse experiences of growing older, by sharing stories and engaging in conversations that highlight the many different ways we age.
Embracing Ageing is an inter-generational social discussion event for LGBTQ+ people aged 18+. Dress to express – in comfort! Refreshments available.

The Nechells POD intergenerational community picnic and storytelling session celebrates Age Without Limits Day by bringing together people of all ages to enjoy a shared picnic.
Older participants will share stories about their experiences of aging in Nechells, fostering connection and understanding between generations.
The event also features a collaborative footprint craft and a community consultation, ensuring everyone’s voice is heard while promoting inclusion, celebrating aging, and challenging ageist stereotypes.
