Age Without Limits Day is a day for us all to come together and take action to end ageism - as individuals, with friends and family, in our communities and in our workplaces. This year we're focussed on a life after 50 that's full of potential, celebrating lifelong learning, growth and possibility.

Whether you're looking to upskill, meet like-minded people, or find new ways to get involved in your community, this event is for you. We’ll be showcasing opportunities for personal growth, career change, volunteering, and community engagement — all designed to inspire and empower the 50+ community.

Age Without Limits Day: Celebrating Wisdom, Life & Laughter!

Gravesend Library, Windmill Street, Gravesend, Kent, DA12 1BE

Gravesham will proudly host Age Without Limits Day, a free community celebration designed to challenge ageism, honour the wisdom of older residents, and promote wellbeing and connection.

The event will open with a “Wisdom Welcome” and feature inspiring mini-talks busting myths about ageing, local services supporting older adults, and a special cake-cutting celebration for those with June birthdays.

A highlight of the afternoon includes the presentation of Community Appreciation Awards recognising remarkable local individuals. From 3:00pm onwards, attendees can join in uplifting taster sessions, including Laughter Yoga and Mindfulness for Wellbeing, aimed at promoting mental and physical health.

Visitors can also enjoy:

  • A Photo Booth with “I’m Ageing Brilliantly!” props
  • A Wisdom Wall & Story Station to share memories and advice
  • A Display Area with helpful resources and local service info

As part of Age Without Limits Day and brought to you by Ageing Well Bath & North East Somerset, we are delighted to invite you to two free workshops.

Wreath making

From 10am to 12pm, join us at Age UK Bath and North East Somerset, James Street West, Bath, BA1 2BT for a free, hands-on wreath making workshop – a friendly and inclusive space to get creative, try something new, and connect with others in an intergenerational group.

Whether you're a complete beginner or a confident crafter, come and enjoy a relaxed morning full of colour, laughter, and creativity.

  • A step-by-step session to make your own colourful felt summer wreath
  • All materials provided – just bring your imagination
  • Friendly guidance in a welcoming environment

Cookie making and play

We are also delighted to a free Cookie Making & Play Session – For Toddlers, Parents/Carers & Older Community Members, a warm and playful space to create, connect and have fun across generations. Whether you're rolling dough, playing nearby, or enjoying a cuppa and a chat, there's something for everyone.

  • A relaxed, fully supported session for toddlers aged 2–4
  • Parents/carers stay throughout – join in or take a breather with a hot drink
  • Cookie making led by a friendly instructor with support from play workers and local older community members

Age UK Oxfordshire: Creative ageing taster sessions

Redlands Community Centre, Neithrop Avenue, Banbury, OX16 2NT

Help us celebrate Age Without Limits Day at a day of creative ageing taster sessions at Redlands Community Centre, Banbury on 5th June 2025.

We are working with our local partners to offer a selection of Creative Ageing Taster Sessions for anyone interested in creative ageing, including older people, link workers and social prescribers. Each free session will last approximately 30 minutes, requires no prior experience, and will be open for drop-ins throughout the day.

All day (10am-3pm): Advice and information available from Age UK Oxfordshire’s Community Links Oxfordshire team and Age Friendly Banbury.

10.30am: Craft session with Redlands tutors

11.30am: 'Times Gone By’ reminiscence session with Banbury Museum and Gallery

12.30pm: Lunchbreak (refreshments available)

1.30pm: Seated Zumba session with Redlands tutors

2.15pm: Seated yoga session with the Mill Arts Centre

All sessions will take place at Redlands Community Centre, Neithrop Ave, Banbury, OX16 2NT and will be approximately 30 minutes long. Free parking and refreshments will be available.

Cambridge United Foundation: Community Café and Wellbeing Walk

Cambridge United Foundation are hosting a Community Café followed by a Wellbeing Walk at the Cledara Abbey Stadium (CB5 8LN) on Wednesday 11th June.

The morning will start with free refreshments at the Community Café (11am-12:15pm) followed by a relaxing Wellbeing Walk (12:15pm-1:15pm) that will give participants the opportunity to leisurely walk and talk along the Chisholm Trail and around Coldham’s Common. NOTE: This walk is designed to be accessible, friendly, and welcoming to people of all ages and abilities.

Age UK County Durham and Adventure Access: Celebrate Ageing, Challenge Ageism

Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Lane, Old Elvet, Durham, DH1 3JU

Age UK Co Durham working in partnership with Adventure Access will be hosting canoeing and paddleboard sessions on the River Wear in Durham City to Celebrate Ageing and Challenge Ageism on Wednesday 11 June. The two sessions will run from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm, and from 13:00 pm until 14:30 pm.

Sessions are open to all adults aged 50yrs+ living or working in County Durham. 

Delivered by fully qualified instructors the sessions are suitable for all abilities. Instructors will work closely with individuals who are not particularly water confident.

Ewhurst & Staplecross Village Hall: Breaking Down Age Barriers

We plan to run an Age Without Limits Day involving children from the local primary school and older residents of the village.

This has never been run before and the aim is to have fun as well as promote inter-generational conversations. The aim is to challenge negative stereotypes of older people. The activity will comprise of 2 components.

Firstly, that of a ‘gallery’ of photographs of those older residents of the village depicting them as children/teenagers. The children attending the activity will then have to ‘match’ the person with their photograph.  The second component is that of inter-generational balloon modelling workshop.

This workshop would introduce a skill that transcends all generations and brings different generations together to have fun and learn a new skill together.
