Shared Story, York: Writing workshop

Join us for Taskmaster Senior, a hilarious and creative take on the popular TV show, specially designed for older neighbours at our b:friend social clubs!

Expect fun, light-hearted challenges that showcase the humour, creativity, and quick thinking of our older neighbours.

We're celebrating ageing in the best way—through laughter, teamwork, and a bit of friendly competition! Follow along on social media to watch the chaos unfold!

Any older person is welcome along to the following clubs ahead of these events. They all meet weekly.

The Bowness and Windermere Community Care Trust (BWCCT): Exhibition

The Phoenix Centre, Phoenix Way, Windermere, LA23 1BZ 

The Bowness and Windermere Community Care Trust is delivering a innovative project which will celebrate Age Without Limits Day. Pupils from some of the local schools have been interviewing local retirees about their lives and proudest moments. These words will be illustrated by Alex Kirkpatrick , an artist who will  creatively put them into a six frame style story board and the finished pieces will be exhibited in Slate Cafe Windermere for all to see and admire. The art work will be displayed for three weeks. 

We are grateful to those participating, Alex Kirkpatrick, Slate Cafe and the grant we have received from yourselves to enable us to deliver this project.

Stand Up Sisters

Community Hive, Market Place, Bolton, BL1 2AR

It will be fun day which will allow women to express themselves, releasing any inner anger they feel about how society perceives them as they grow older in a healthy, creatively contained way.

The event will highlight ageism and will challenge perceptions and attitudes towards older people.

We will do this by engaging in “angry craftivism,” by writing slogans on china teacups and creating a banner to exhibit, which will be held up with walking sticks.

The event will be filmed and women will be interviewed about ageism and how they feel about growing older.

Food and holistic therapies will also be available.

This event is open to the public.

Tonic Housing Association: artwork exhibition

Tonic has partnered with the Saatchi Gallery to hold a special exhibition of artwork designed by the residents of Tonic and their friends.

Tonic has opened the UK’s first community-led LGBT+ Retirement Community and the exhibition on Age Without Limits Day 2025 will show that LGBT+ people do not need to be invisible as they age but instead we can challenge ageism and celebrate their later lives.
