Age UK Oxfordshire: Creative ageing taster sessions

Redlands Community Centre, Neithrop Avenue, Banbury, OX16 2NT

Help us celebrate Age Without Limits Day at a day of creative ageing taster sessions at Redlands Community Centre, Banbury on 5th June 2025.

We are working with our local partners to offer a selection of Creative Ageing Taster Sessions for anyone interested in creative ageing, including older people, link workers and social prescribers. Each free session will last approximately 30 minutes, requires no prior experience, and will be open for drop-ins throughout the day.

All day (10am-3pm): Advice and information available from Age UK Oxfordshire’s Community Links Oxfordshire team and Age Friendly Banbury.

10.30am: Craft session with Redlands tutors

11.30am: 'Times Gone By’ reminiscence session with Banbury Museum and Gallery

12.30pm: Lunchbreak (refreshments available)

1.30pm: Seated Zumba session with Redlands tutors

2.15pm: Seated yoga session with the Mill Arts Centre

All sessions will take place at Redlands Community Centre, Neithrop Ave, Banbury, OX16 2NT and will be approximately 30 minutes long. Free parking and refreshments will be available.

Cambridge United Foundation: Community Café and Wellbeing Walk

Cambridge United Foundation are hosting a Community Café followed by a Wellbeing Walk at the Cledara Abbey Stadium (CB5 8LN) on Wednesday 11th June.

The morning will start with free refreshments at the Community Café (11am-12:15pm) followed by a relaxing Wellbeing Walk (12:15pm-1:15pm) that will give participants the opportunity to leisurely walk and talk along the Chisholm Trail and around Coldham’s Common. NOTE: This walk is designed to be accessible, friendly, and welcoming to people of all ages and abilities.

Age UK County Durham and Adventure Access: Celebrate Ageing, Challenge Ageism

Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Lane, Old Elvet, Durham, DH1 3JU

Age UK Co Durham working in partnership with Adventure Access will be hosting canoeing and paddleboard sessions on the River Wear in Durham City to Celebrate Ageing and Challenge Ageism on Wednesday 11 June. The two sessions will run from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm, and from 13:00 pm until 14:30 pm.

Sessions are open to all adults aged 50yrs+ living or working in County Durham. 

Delivered by fully qualified instructors the sessions are suitable for all abilities. Instructors will work closely with individuals who are not particularly water confident.
